Sorrows is, in my estimation, a beautiful gem of a composition. The slightly bitter-sweet and somewhat haunting aspect of its melody gives the piece a melancholy sentiment that bestows a solace upon the listener. I really love this short work of mine and I have always been impressed with the manner in which it came to me. Sorrows, for the most part, rather "fell off my fingers" as it were, as I like to say about it. The original work has lyrics but, for this current project of Songs from the Shadows, the piano arrangement is more than adequate.
