Songs from the Shadows is my 3rd original piano music project. This one should really be my first because all of the pieces on this cd cover a period of 25 years before I composed most of the pieces for my 1st piano cd. The reason for this is that I never had the necessary equipment to record all of these pieces until 2005 or so. In any event, Songs from the Shadows covers much of my musical development as an amateur composer going all the way back to "Study no.1", which I wrote in 1979! From there, I travel through the years to a jazz-like improvisation called "Jabberwocky", which I fortuitously happened to be recording at the time in 2004 (with someone else's gear). Shadows is quite a long musical journey to be sure. I have 19 pieces here and I would love you to enjoy as many of them as possible.

All of the pieces were composed and performed by Stephen Richard Thomas Brown. There is one exception. Unicorn Dreams was co-written with the magical improvisationalist, artiste extraordinaire, and resident genius Phil Ogison (who is also at Bandcamp)!
